29 March - INTERPLAY (Ride) 7th album from the Oxford band who put guitars together 30 years ago. Their best issue since the 90's. On the other hand, if you want to hear some french words, let's listen to the lastest Raphael.
Bien sûr, les Oxfordiens se sont calmés, travaillant davantage les chansons pour en faire un album resplendissant où les arrangements remplacent les guitares déchaînées des débuts. Ajouter également le dernier de Raphael - histoire de sauver l'honneur des textes en français dans une année 2024 très internationale. Enfin, Dent May, Devon Welsh et les Church continuent d'enregistrer des pop songs agréables à écouter en ce printemps aux ciels capricieux.

22 March - REAL POWER (Gossip) When rhythm & blues meets pop! Great voice, good vibrations, a real smashing album for first days of spring.
Déjouant tous les pronostics, ce sont les Gossip qui décrochent la palme cette semaine printannière. Mélange subtil de soul et de pop, un album rempli de soleil.
Je n'oublie pas le nouveau Starsailor, un poil en dessous des précédents et la résurrection des Jesus & Mary Chain (une résurrection, quoi de plus normal, n'est-ce pas?)
15 March - TAKING PICTURES OF TAKING PICTURES (the Bv's) Imagine the London pop band the Sundays without the voice of Harriet Wheeler. You got it!
Réminiscence d'un téléscopage entres les Sundays et les Field Mice, nos cousins Germains savent décidément tout faire. Nettement plus agités, les anglais Feral Family peuvent retenir l'attention.
Bon feeling également avec Torrey (à ne pas confondre toutefois avec un rappeur homonyme) où la voix de la chanteuse rappelle Lush.
C'est sûr, on baigne dans les années 90... Alors l'album solo du leader des Midnight Oil semble le cheveu dans la soupe, largement écloutable au reste.
Avant la déferlante des originaux de l'époque Vendredi prochain : Jesus & Mary Chain, Elbow et Starsailor!
8 March - INTERIOR SPRING (Topographies) Back in the 80's for whom remember Clan Of Xymox.
Encore un coup de la Delorean à remonter le temps. Voix caverneuse, influence Sisters of Mercy avec une pointe dance, héritée des Néerlandais Clan of Xymox.
1st March - WESTERN APPROACH (Red Rum Club) Return of the Liverpool band with calibrated pop songs. Les Liverpuldiens s'affirment comme un bon groupe pop/rock dans une concurrence acharnée : Liam Gallagher, après avoir usé des cordes avec son frangin, puis formé le Beady Eye, s'acoquine avec le guitariste des autres Stones pour un album à révérences en pagaille : les Fab Four bien entendu, mais aussi Hendrix, les Kinks et Led Zep. Everything Everything, les éternels ennemis de Manchester, nettement plus mélodiques (voir Appolo Junction) qui font passer le nouveau Kaiser Chiefs pour une copie et enfin des Bruxellois dans la veine de Deus ou Ghinzu, assez mollement indie : Whispering Sons.
